Kill your fear!!!

Shortly, after we got married, my mentor and I were talking one day about the need for me to have a car.

I remembered he said to me “until you show God that you are ready for it, you may not have it.”

I asked him, how do i show God that I was ready, he simply said to me “go and learn how to drive and when you do, you are saying that you are indeed ready for a car ๐Ÿš˜ “

Little did he know that I was always afraid of driving!!!

One of the things  that I never thought I will be able to do was driving.

I was always afraid of driving.

Even when my wife and I decided to learn how to drive in 2010, she was a smarter student than I was.

Our friend who was teaching us then was always saying, “your wife is doing better than you sir.”

If you sincerely ask me, the only reason I was not doing well was because I was afraid.

The fear of driving continued to held me captive, coupled with the fact that our friend who was teaching us how to drive suddenly died in a car crash.

But in 2011, I got a deal to buy a car and I took it because I knew how much we needed it as a family.

Hence, I could not drive it. I had to rely on people to drive us around.

My neighbor Ishaku was always helping and some of our members in the church helped also.

So I continued to depend on people to move me around, all because I was afraid.

At a point, we needed to travel to Bayelsa for a  ministration, but because I could not drive I had to pay a man in our neighborhood to drive us there.

But our experience on the way was not palatable.

This man will take permission to use the restroom but will go and get drunk.

On our way, we were involved in a crash just because of the way the man was driving on that notorious Lokoja- Abuja highway.

It got to a point on that trip that I said to myself, “it is either I kill my fear or this man will kill us”.

Finally, we came back to Abuja alive by God’s mercy and I said to myself “Mr fear, you can no longer keep me from using what I have”.

So I confronted my fear.

I called one of my sons in the church. I told him, to teach me again. He laughed and said “Pastor, you know how to drive but you are just afraid”.

He eventually showed me again how to do it.

Guess what, after he taught me, I was still afraid and was still waiting on people to move around.

Finally,

That day came when I needed to go to Nasarawa for a ministration and there was no one available to drive me there.

Staring at the car keys for sometime, I said to myself, “it is now or never”.

After much struggling with myself, I told my wife, I am ready to go to Nasarawa and I will drive myself.

My wife screamed nooooooooo!

So I told her, get in to the car or I will leave you behind!

Reluctantly, she got into the car and we left the house!

It was a ride of a lifetime!

I was swerving all over the road, there were times I almost climbed the curb on the side of the road. I was sweating profusely and you can imagine that my wife and I fought all through the journey.

But the good news was that we made it there and back home!

Yes, I drove us to Nasarawa and back home to the University Campus where I was pastoring!

I was so proud of my accomplishment that I quickly called Gbenga to tell him what I did! Of course, I told almost everyone that visited me.

I conquered my fear!

I drove myself to the places I wanted to go and I never had to wait for anyone to drive me.

Alas, it was a manual transmission car but I drove it all the same! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Guess where I drove to after two weeks of driving?  Osogbo, Osun state!

It took my wife time to believe that I could drive but I drove everywhere I wanted to.

Why am I telling you this story?

I believe that you have waited on people for too long!

I believe that fear is not allowing you to express all of you and you may not if you don’t kill your fear!

it is time to kill your fear or be killed by it!

The only thing standing between you and your greatness is your fear!

It is not that you don’t have what you need, it is just that you are afraid of using it!!!

My friend, kill your fear!

While some are living out their dreams, many are living out their fears!

You have to chose to either live in fear or live life to the fullest!

Just like I was depending on people to do what I could do, I know you have waited for so long on people and it is time to rise up and move that car.

The problem is not that you don’t have what you need to get to where God wants to take you, the problem is that you are to scared of moving your car!

You have stopped yourself for so long!
It is time to kill your fear!

Fear will cage you and enslave your capacity!

Fear will stop you from reaching your destination!

Fear will keep you at the mercy of people!

Fear will kill your visions, dreams and aspirations!

You cannot live free if you live in fear!

Fear tells you that you cannot do what you can do!

Fear creates in you constantly an image of failure!

Fear will keep you from your promise land even though God has given it to you.

Fear will not allow you see what God has done for you, it will only make you see what you cannot do!

Fear will lead you to sin against God because it will always make you see God as a liar!

My friend!
Kill your fear before it kills you!

I hope this will motivate you!!!
